We are pleased to present this high quality, limited edition brass heirloom -only 3598, the number of Canadian soldiers who fell at the battle of Vimy Ridge in April 1917 will be produced.
These medallions are forged with pieces of Iron Harvest,
"The iron harvest is the annual "harvest" of unexploded ordnance, barbed wire, shrapnel, bullets and congruent trench supports collected by Belgian and French farmers after ploughing their fields. The harvest generally applies to the material from World War I, which is still found in large quantities across the former Western Front." Wikipedia
The medallion’s front represents the 4th Canadian Mounted Rifles Association in conjunction with Wounded Warriors Canada while the medallion’s back shows our Vimy 100 Iron Harvest trade mark commemorating the battle’s 100th anniversary and the battlefield metal that was used to forge it.
Sales of these unique collectable medallions support the 2017 Vimy Ride and Wounded Warriors Canada. A percentage of net sales will be donated to Wounded Warriors Canada to support their efforts aiding veterans and First Responders who contend with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which we know has affected undiagnosed veterans for centuries, also known in the past as “Battle Fatigue’.
